FILIP + INNA

Inspired by Tradition, intertwined with the contemporary.

Culture is our fingerprint, and we embrace our culture as a part of our everyday life.

MISSION

Filip + Inna’s mission is to create while also reviving, even preserving, the traditions of the Philippines that are in danger of becoming lost and being forgotten. Filip + Inna works with many groups of talented artisans across the archipelago, giving them an opportunity to continue practicing their traditional craft while improving their livelihood.

Filip + Inna brings into each garment ancient techniques of weaving, embroidery and beadwork from different Indigenous groups of the Philippines. The artisan breathes life into each creation, and the human hand is seen and felt in each creation.

A NAME THAT EVOKES COMPLEMENTARITY

The  brand name points to two parties that are drawn together toward a common purpose - the Artisan + the Design Team, on one hand. On the other, there are also the Brand + the Client. In both cases, both sides are complementary. Not one is more powerful than the other. The duality is held together by the honoring of Philippine culture.

At present, Filip + Inna is engaged in collaborations with 26 cultural and traditional communities around the Philippines. Personal relationships are cultivated through open communication and regular personal visits.

SAMA - SAMA PROGRAMS

Sama-Sama means “all together” in Filipino language.

For Filip + Inna, it means that we are all interconnected with one another. We are connected to our past, the imprint of our past is indelible on who we are today, as we move into the future.

Sama-Sama is a series of programs where Filip + Inna works together with artisans to celebrate and contribute towards preserving and upholding cultural traditions.

The BAHAY KUBO Program

Our true wealth is our culture, and we need to protect the storytellers of that culture.

The Bahay Kubo Program is in collaboration with Green Releaf Initiative.

In this Program Filip + Inna works with artisans using their existing traditions in farming coupled with principles of Permaculture.

The Program aims to make an impact on the lives of the artisans and their families supporting them in the process of developing their own regenerative and self-sufficient ecosystem.
