WORKSHOP 1: What is the difference between conventional Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Cultural Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR)? Learn about a new framework of international human rights that legalises care and collective custodianship for Indigenous Peoples, Ethnic Groups and Local Communities over their Traditional Knowledge systems. This workshop develops legal literacy of these concepts, essential for a sustainable future.
WORKSHOP 2: How do you personally engage with Cultural Intellectual Property Rights® (CIPR)? Have you ever bought a product or learnt from knowledge systems that could be Cultural Intellectual Property? How do you prepare for engaging with conversations about Cultural Intellectual Property Rights® (CIPR)? To respect the knowledge systems of Indigenous Peoples, Ethnic Groups and Local Communities, this workshop provides strategies and support for engaging with Cultural Intellectual Property Rights® (CIPR) in your workplace and daily life. You will leave the session with the right vocabulary, awareness and confidence to engage respectfully and make informed choices.
WORKSHOP 3: What is the Spectrum of Cultural Sustainability and the Handmade? Craft/Artisanal/Traditional Cultural Expressions/Supply Chains - What is the difference between someone who practices handmade craft and someone who is a carer and custodian of an Indigenous or Local Knowledge system that is expressed through craft practices? And how do you collaborate appropriately and respectfully in supply chains? This workshop explores the spectrum of the handmade, craft, artisanal, and knowledge custodians and carers. You will leave this workshop with the tools to identify, value and support these practices across the craft spectrum.
